Plot: Soul Eater follows the story of three meisters (Maka Albarn, Black Star, and Death the Kid – Shinigami’s son) attending the weapon master school Shibusen set in the fictional Death City, United States. The school is managed by Shinigami, the Death God, who trains human wielders and their weapons alike. The weapons are actually demons that have both a human and weapon form.

It is later revealed that Shinigami created the school as a peaceful organization in hopes of preventing the rise of the “kishin,” an evil demon god, who nearly destroyed the world once.

Meisters and their weapons are constantly sent on missions to kill evil humans, because they have the potential to become the next “kishin.” The evil soul is then consumed by the weapon, and once the weapon has consumed ninety-nine souls and one witch soul, they will gain great power and can be used by the Shinigami himself.
